How different the Christmas story might have been,
If the Magi tasked to greet the baby Jesus had been
Women.
My guess is they would have
Asked directions, and reached
Mary and Joseph before
The Child was born
With a crib and a blanket, or, better,
a hotel voucher--
God’s story is decidedly more messy,
And therefore,
More comforting.
